“the lesser becomes replaced by the greater”
The basic assumption of Simple Reality is that operant reconditioning is necessary for humans to Transcend the illusion of a P-B dualistic worldview.
This reconditioning involves a few steps. The first is “letting go of our reliance on the intellect and learning to trust our intuition, our inner wisdom.”[i]
Next, “one has to be compassionate towards everything, including one’s own self and thoughts … as each thought, feeling, desire, or deed was surrendered to God, the mind became increasingly silent.”[ii]
Finally, “there is a resolution of purpose … a willingness to forgive and love rather than to hate and condemn … a willingness to forsake the lesser for the greater and a desire to understand rather than to judge … a preference for peace and tranquility over stimulation and excitement.”[iii]
Insight # 5 comes to us from Sir David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D. (1913-2002) an internationally renowned psychiatrist, physician, researcher, spiritual teacher and lecturer.
“To ease the transition of identification from the self to Self [from P-B to P-A], it is helpful to know that the lesser becomes replaced by the greater, and thus no loss is experienced.”[iv]
