Sometimes called the True-self the Essence is not a “self” at all but our true nature beyond the “I” and is in truth the “no-self,” the un-manifested. It is the “form” emerging out of the “field” of the Implicate Order to which it returns as energy upon the death of the form.
All form including the ego is impermanent and fraught with illusion. Dis-identification with the ego and all form, such as mind, emotions and the body, is an essential part of the process of Self-realization. And if that is not challenging enough, there is no “process” in Self-realization but it involves an instantaneous insight that is beyond time.
And yet, paradoxically, for most of us it requires a strong intention and diligence to eschew reaction and choose response in order that we may attain our natural state within P-A.
