You might think by the title of this essay that we will be addressing some aspect of religion. But, no, the greatest heresy has nothing to do with religion.
The greatest heresy is to not believe the most fundamental and self-evident Truth that Creation (the Universe) is friendly. The most important question Einstein asked was: Is the Universe friendly? Do we answer that Yes or No?
When we choose to believe that Creation is not friendly, we choose to live in never-ending existential fear. Further, when our energy is used in the ever-present expression of fear it creates a belief in the other. And finally, a belief in the other is and has always been the genesis of much of the violence in the Global Village. This makes life on earth ultimately unsustainable.
Furthermore, a belief in an unfriendly Creation also leads to the belief that the Creator (God) is unfriendly, judgmental, incompetent, uncaring, neglectful, weak, indifferent and lacking in compassion. A person who chooses to believe in an unfriendly Creator would be considered a heretic. Right?
Believing in an unfriendly Creation or Creator defies all logic and contradicts self-evident Truths.
In the previous essay we examined faith. We concluded there is no need for faith unless you don’t believe in a perfect and friendly Creation. Obeisance to faith is the refuge of the irreligious.
