Belief in angels existed before Christianity or Judaism. Back in the New Stone Age angels were viewed as messengers. “The traditional idea of a kind of heavenly royal household was taken over in the Hebrew Bible, where it underwent a colorful development. As for the different kinds or classes of angels, they are listed in descending order: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones, Dominations, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Archangels, etc.”[i] Having a fertile imagination, it is the nature of the intellect in P-B to elaborate phenomena ad infinitum. There is no end to angels and evil beings in a religious paradigm.
So who are these messengers? Thankfully, P-A is characterized by simplicity, so it is easy to explain the phenomenal world. The only messenger with substantial reality is our own intuition. Hence, an angel is our own energy connected to the present moment seeking to communicate the wisdom of the Implicate Order, to offer us guidance. We should listen to our inner angel rather than the often fear-driven intellect which has nothing profound to say.
