Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.)

The Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.) is an outgrowth of the readings of Edgar Cayce. The essence of the Cayce readings can be summed up in the word Oneness which is the answer to the First Great Question having to do with the nature of Simple Reality. The readings also have profound responses to the Second Great Question concerning our identity.

Since Creation is viewed as perfect in Simple Reality and the Cayce readings, then each human being follows that pattern of perfection called in the readings “Christ Consciousness.” “For the Master, Jesus, even the Christ, is the pattern for every man in the earth, whether he be Gentile or Jew, Parthenian or Greek. For all have the pattern, whether they call on that name or not.”[i]

Kevin Todeschi, CEO of the A.R.E., explains that: “Regardless of an individual’s religion or personal beliefs, this Christ pattern exists in potential upon the very fiber of their being. It is that part of us which is in perfect accord with the Creator and is simply waiting to find manifestation in our lives.”

The A.R.E. continues in its publications and programs to support practices that bring human behavior into alignment with the worldview of Oneness and the transformed identity associated with this shift in paradigm.

See Thomas Sugrue’s biography There Is a River or The Edgar Cayce Primer by Herbert Puryear for more on Cayce and the readings. Kevin Todeschi has written over twenty books and many articles interpreting and explaining the readings and extending their practical application. The A.R.E. also supports an extensive network of local study groups throughout the United States and abroad.
