Courage

Physician and philosopher Leon R. Kass says that, “We have this bodily life, and the question is, are we going to turn it into a thing of beauty and a life of meaning, or not? Courage is the virtue that responds to the fear of death.”[i]

Are we going to let the fear of death and the fear of change which we think ultimately leads to death block our ability to shift paradigm, to change our worldview? If we can summon up the courage to consider that we have a choice in the matter we can become present, become the observer and have the insight into reality that will empower us to live more and more in the NOW. Then we will no longer need courage because we will see death as an illusion.
